Railroads, a stock market and the people who run both: an 18xx game being built for play on Juno, at three tables.
01Buy
Shares in the railroads. The largest holder becomes president and runs the company.
02Sell
Shares back to the market, and the price falls with them.
03Operate
Lay track, place stations, run trains for revenue.
04Withhold
Keep the revenue in the treasury or pay it out as dividends. The share price answers either way.
05Rust
New trains make old ones obsolete. Whole fleets vanish at a phase change.
06Bankrupt
A president who cannot buy a required train pays from their own pocket. Fail that, and the game ends.

01 · Overview
Project 18XX is a railway-and-stock game of the 18xx family. Players buy into railroad companies, take the presidency of the ones they hold most of, and run them — laying track, buying trains, paying dividends or keeping the money.
It is being built for play on Juno, at three tables, with house rules the host can choose.
Fig. 01Share certificates: in Project 18XX the game is played in them as much as on the map.

House rules
The host sets up a game: one of the three tables, and any of four house rules.
Each rule is tagged by what it does to the game — easier, riskier, harder, chaotic — in the game’s own words.

What changes
Gentle Rust
easier
A rusting train gets one last Operating Round turn before it goes.
Dynamic Market
riskier
Big payouts move the share price twice as far up, big withholdings twice as far down.
Delayed Auction
harder
The private company auction waits until the first 3-train is bought.
Unpredictable Revenue
chaotic
Runs can produce up to ±20% of their standard revenue.
